National chain pharmacies are the most common place to fill prescriptions in the US, with 43% of the country’s adults purchasing prescription drugs there as of July 2021. That figure declined from 50% in March 2019, while in-store, local/family-owned, and online pharmacies each grew in share by 2 to 3 percentage points.
