Warner Bros. Discovery ad chief exits amid streaming pivot

The news: After taking $9.1 billion in writedowns just two months ago, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is experiencing its latest setback: Chief US advertising sales officer Jon Steinlauf will be stepping down later this year, per Variety.

Steinlauf, who has spent over 30 years leading ad sales at WBD and its predecessor companies like Turner, Scripps Networks, and Discovery, is credited with transforming the company’s advertising portfolio through integrated advertising packages and launching the ad-supported business for Max.
