US Adults Want Safer, Cleaner Travel Guidelines Once Air Travel Resumes

Many US adults would stand behind any potential actions airlines and airports take in response to the pandemic.

According to May 2020 YouGov data, 82% of adults said they support deep cleaning after every flight, and 76% were in favor of airlines adding sanitizing guidelines during the flight safety demonstration. Additionally, nearly two-thirds supported the monitoring of passengers’ temperatures, heart rates and respiratory rates before boarding a flight.

Airlines may even see an increase in travel insurance post-pandemic. According to the survey, more than half (57%) of respondents said they would consider buying an insurance policy that would issue full refunds in the event they were denied boarding.
