The news: The largest theater chains in the US and Canada, including AMC Entertainment, Regal Cinemas, and Cinemark, will invest more than $2.2 billion in upgrades over the next three years.
- These overhauls will affect more than 21,000 screens, representing 67% of North American box office sales, according to the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO).
