As social media faces legal troubles, advertisers must adapt

The news: Meta, TikTok, and X are all facing legal troubles for promoting content that allegedly violates laws across jurisdictions.

  • Meta and TikTok are asking an appellate court to dismiss claims that the platforms harm teens, arguing that the claims violate section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and should be prevented from moving forward. Per a joint statement, Section 230 provides “immunity from liability and immunity from suit arising from their publication of third-party content.”
