Revolut plans for 2025 India launch as part of global expansion

The news: Revolut will launch in India next year, per the Financial Times.

• The UK-based fintech established a presence in India in 2021 but didn’t get in-principle authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to issue prepaid cards and digital wallets until this year.
• With the authorization, it will launch its app alongside domestic and multi-currency cards in 2025.

The bigger picture: Revolut is rapidly growing its mix of products and services. But it also wants to diversify geographically—93% of Revolut’s 2023 revenue came from Europe.
