Patients of senior-focused primary care organizations have more touchpoints with providers

The data: Patients of value-based, senior-focused primary care organizations (SPCOs) had 17% more primary care visits than senior patients in more traditional primary care settings, per a new study by Humana in partnership with a Harvard University researcher.

  • Humana analyzed data across six different SPCOs and over 462,000 patients enrolled in Medicare Advantage (MA) in 2021.
  • For context, Humana operates a series of senior-focused primary care clinics across the US under the CenterWell Senior Primary Care brand name.
