Meta-Reuters partnership signals integration of credible news with social media and AI

The news: Meta entered a multiyear partnership with Reuters that will give its AI chatbot access to Reuters’ news content to answer real-time queries, per Axios.

The partnership indicates Meta’s reentry into the news domain after years of contentious relationships with publishers. It could lead to ads being placed alongside reputable news content, which benefits both companies. 

Meta hasn’t indicated if it will use Reuters content to train its large language models.
