The news: Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s wellness brand, Lemme, recently launched an “all natural” weight loss supplement dubbed Lemme GLP-1 Daily.
- The supplement doesn’t require a prescription and retails for $72 for a month’s supply via a subscription model, or $90 as a single purchase.
Is it a GLP-1 or not? Despite its name, the supplement doesn’t contain a synthetic GLP-1 hormone and isn’t a GLP-1 receptor agonist like Ozempic. Instead, it’s plant-based.
- The capsules contain natural ingredients including Eriomin lemon fruit extract, Supresa saffron extract, and Morosil red orange fruit extract.
- The supplement is designed to “boost the body’s GLP-1 levels, reduce hunger, promote insulin sensitivity, and support healthy weight management,” per a Lemme press release.
Zooming out: The company is the latest in a tsunami of entrants that have pushed into the weight loss space.
- Players such as Noom, Hims & Hers, and The Vitamin Shoppe are offering compounded GLP-1s through their own programs. These alternatives to branded GLP-1s require a prescription.
- And Lemme isn’t alone in the capsule supplement area. A quick online search shows supplement companies like Veracity and Codeage offering GLP-1 weight loss supplements of their own.
