Google, Samsung, Qualcomm join forces for smart glasses

The collab: Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm teamed up to build smart glasses akin to Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (which are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip).

• The trio’s glasses will be designed as companion devices for smartphones, not a separate entity with its own cellular network like Humane’s Ai Pin.
• “AI is going to run on the device. It’s going to run on the cloud,” said Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon told CNBC. “It’s going to run some in the glass, some in the phone, but at the end of the day, there’s going to be whole new experiences.”
