The news: Startup Figure AI moved up its timeline to this year for testing humanoid robots inside homes.
“Our AI, Helix, is advancing faster than any of us anticipated, accelerating our timeline into the home,” CEO Brett Adcock announced on X. Figure initially planned to test Figure 02 in two years but revised its “alpha testing” phase last week.
Big Tech expansion: Meta is working on its own in-home robots and is in talks with Unitree Robotics and Figure to explore humanoid robots. It’s looking for the Next Big Thing to justify its mega investment in Reality Labs, which is currently a money vacuum with little payoff.
