Eli Lilly’s snub of Hims could spell trouble for the D2C healthcare company’s weight loss drug business

The news: Hims & Hers has added more weight loss treatments to its platform, including Eli Lilly’s Zepbound and Mounjaro and generic liraglutide, an older GLP-1 medication.

Hims doesn’t take insurance, meaning Zepbound and Mounjaro will cost customers $1,899 a month. Hims is also now selling Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy for $1,999/month and Ozempic for $1,799/month.

How we got here: Hims had always planned on offering Lilly’s and Novo’s branded GLP-1 weight loss drugs if there was sufficient supply.
