Consumers wary of AI-generated marketing content, AI-driven ad targeting

The news: Almost half of US consumers think brands that use AI-generated content in their ads come across as fraudulent.

  • 40% of Gen Zers and 42% of baby boomers said brands that use AI in their ads seem like scams, per Tinuiti’s Public Perceptions of AI in Marketing survey.
  • Even with that opinion, 61% said they will still buy from a brand that includes AI-generated images, video, or text in its ads. Eleven percent said they’re even more likely to make a purchase.
