ByteDance’s AI sabotage incident raises concerns about data security in AI training

The news: TikTok-owner ByteDance fired an intern working on its advertising technology team for “maliciously interfering” with its AI training models used in a research project, per the BBC.

The intern reportedly caused more than $10 million in damage.

ByteDance’s latest debacle: Facing a TikTok ban in the US as well as various court cases pertaining to violating consumer privacy laws, ByteDance now has to contend with fallout resulting from tampering of its AI data sets.
