Sustainability is a growing concern for UK consumers, and research shows that it’s affecting their decisions about where to shop. As a result, more retailers are prioritizing sustainable practices so they can meet the desires of the eco-conscious consumer.
Here’s what UK consumers say about retailers and sustainability:
- Over half of shoppers in the country (60%) say they are trying to educate themselves on how to reduce environmental impact as a consumer, according to November 2021 research by Yonder for retailer Marks and Spencer.
- Nearly three-quarters (72%) of online shoppers ages 16 and up agreed or strongly agreed that they want retailers to be ecologically sustainable, according to November 2021 research by RetailX.
