The news: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was officially confirmed as Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary on Thursday morning. The Senate voted 52-48 in Kennedy’s favor.
Kennedy will be heading up a federal health agency with 13 operating divisions. The HHS also has the largest budget of any in the government ($1.7 trillion).
We previously detailed Kennedy’s contentious Senate confirmation hearings where he gave non-answers and incorrect responses to several questions about the US healthcare system and his prior remarks on science and medicine.
